Have you read it yet? Susanna Jones debut novel about Lucy who escapes England and her troubled past and finds refuge in Tokyo? If not, you should do it right away, it’s really good. Unusual, thought provoking and good. Afterwards, turn on Netflix and watch the fantastic Alicia Wikander in Ridley Scotts adaptation.
Earthquake Bird is just 207 pages long but tells an intriguing tale of a young woman with a perfect life in Tokyo with friends, a decent job and a Japanese lover who takes her breath away – until Lucy comes to town and turns everything upside down.
This is far from your everyday read and really recommend you take a long Sunday in your favourite couch and just read. But read slow, you have to be there from the very first words on the very first page.
